  • Bluetooth frustration

I have a wireless headphone set that connects to a compilot. The app activates the compilot and the compilot transmits to the headphones. Problem is connecting to any app or device gets acknowledged which takes a few seconds and if nothing happens for a few seconds it disconnects and acknowledges that too. I wish the app could recognize a connected compilot and leave it on throughout the whole app usage. Maybe play an inaudible frequency as background music for the app so the Bluetooth stays engaged the whole time. Or at least the option to activate such Bluetooth feature. Otherwise it’s too early to determine how good the app is because this issue is a deterrent. I will have to switch over to wired headphones in the mean time
  • Great way to learn a language!

Okay. The app is wonderful. But I switched from Android to iPhone and now the app makes me lose health when I get some wrong.. I used to be able to keep going back in the Android version. I guess it’s not that bad because you can do practice so you’re still learning overall but I hate being in the middle of a lesson and not being able to go all the way threw. And also the Android version has a discussion section when you answer a question. Other people’s comments have helped me learn as well, so if you could somehow add that feature to the iPhone version of Duolingo that would be awesome. At the end of the day you guys have an app that helps a lot of people out and the best part is that it’s free. Thank you!

Would be nice for 3d touch functionality on the home screen icon to access recent lessons faster.

  • Duolingo changed my life.

I have always had an interest in learning languages. Duolingo had made that an attainable goal for me. Because of Duolingo, I decided to pursue Spanish as my minor in college knowing that I would have it to help me along the way. I am currently learning my 4th language all thanks to duolingo. I didn’t even know what a polyglot or being trilingual meant two years ago! There is no other FREE language learning process out there that compares to Duolingo. I will definitely be upgrading to Duolingo Plus because it is so worth it! This is my most recommended app! Thank you Duolingo!
  • One thing that needs fixing is...

    - One thing that needs fixing is the way life’s work. Waiting for 4 hrs to get any kind of life is way toooo long. I understand you can practice to get the bars, but we should be able to reach a bar every hour until it’s gets full too. Also, we should get credit for every phrase/word we get right to help with life’s. ————————- 5/24/18: - A skip feature would be great. For example, if you can’t think of what the word or phrase is saying, we should be able to to skip it and than come back to it later.
  • Worst changes ever.

SRS is how your brain remembers things and it was cool that Duolingo had this feature and now they replaced it with stupid crowns. So I don’t know when I should practice a section but I know how many crowns I have. Dumbest system ever. I still use TinyCards for now until they introduce this stupid system into that. Stopped using Duolingo. Use Memrise or something else that uses SRS.

I would love to progress using this app but it WILL NOT let me log in at all...I’ve tried multiple times and deleting and redownloading the app and nothing is working..I wish there was a way to fix that so that I can actually start learning something!

This used to be a great app, but it's a joke now and I've deleted it from my phone. The health system they've implemented makes learning a language more frustrating than it is educational. Make five mistakes and you have to either wait a full day to recover your health, do the time consuming practice section to regain hearts, or spend purchaseable gems (expensive by the way) to continue with your lesson. I don't even mind the incessant advertisements there's been lately, just the annoying health system. And it's not just me, I can see that a lot of people share the same complaint here. Won't be using the app again until this system is changed. If this app is really that cash strapped why not make a subscription option? I'd be more than willing to do that, but there's no way I'll buy those ridiculous gems. My 2 cents

Duolingo is amazing!!! Dedicating 20 minutes everyday to learning Italian has been not only stress-free but also fun and very helpful!
